Chandni Chowk to China is a delightful sequel to the hit 2003 film, "Housefull". Akshay Kumar's Housefull 2 (2012) had taken box office collections of Rs. 354 crore, which must have prompted producer Sajid Nadiadwala to come up with his own version. Chandni Chowk benefits from having an earlier start than Houseful but also suffers because of the limited time frame to develop the story for this prequel before it gets outdated by newer developments in geopolitics and popular culture. The opening credits play out on a large screen over the dreamy landscape of the Himalayas. A magical flying horse with a neon blue mane plays with some cute children. A voiceover informs us that this is not a scene from "Chandni Chowk to China", but from "Tashan". Midway others join in, claiming that it is from Hrithik Roshan's "Kites" and Arjun Rampal's "Love U… Mr. Kalakaar!" In fact one seems to have been lifted from Nikhil Advani's 2005 film – himself having copied it from Danny Boyle's opening credits for Christopher Nolan's 2006 hit – The Prestige. Incidentally, in spite of his film being a thriller, Naresh Shelar's character is called Kalakaar, which literally translates to magician in Hindi. In Haryana alone, the film has been released in more than 2250 theatres and over 30 prints, with another 70 prints from India and a few from the rest of the world. Navin Kumbhare has edited Chandni Chowk to China. Tipped off by a friend in Canada who saw the advance screening of Chandni Chowk on 4 August 2010 at Brampton Cinemas, Navin took three months to edit down "Housefull". A point worth noting is that according to IMDb and Wikipedia, Nadiadwala presented this film as a sequel to his own "Housefull" and the distributors presented it as a prequel. The film is set in the China city of Tsinan (Chandni Chowk is in New Delhi), where two rival mafia dons – Paan Singh Tomar (Manoj Bajpai) and Don (Akhilendra Mishra) – vie for supremacy over the drug trade. Surya Dixit (Akshay Kumar), a simpleton with no past and no identity, has been adopted by Paan Singh Tomar and appointed as his heir. The rest of the cast includes: The first look and stills of Chandni Chowk to China were released on 3 June 2012. Promos had been released earlier before the release of Housefull 2 2012. The trailer of the film was launched on 24 July 2012, along with Housefull 2. The full track list of "Chandni Chowk to China" soundtrack was unveiled as well as some really eye catching stills from the music video to "File Moreen Lagey Raha" by Jatin-Lalit in which it is shown that Akshay Kumar has acted in this film too. cfa1e77820
